Styria offers a wide range of camping opportunities in beautiful surroundings:
Camping at mountains & lakes: Bike lovers and passionate hikers can look forward to the offer of campsites in the mountains and near the Enns and Murradweg, while water lovers at Sulmsee, Stubenbergsee or Röcksee get their money’s worth.
Vanlife all year round: While the classic van travel time focuses on the warmer months of the year, in Styria you can also get to know and love Vanlife at winter campsites, ideally in combination with a ski trip to the 4-star Mountain ski area in Schladming.
Camping near the thermal baths: The nine thermal baths in Styria invite you to take a dip in the cool or warm water at any time of the year. Practically, there are numerous pitches in the immediate vicinity, such as the Thermenland Camping Fürstenfeld.
Styria is a true camping paradise. Not only can you enjoy unforgettable experiences all year round from the landscape, the wellness and with family, dog or solo, but you also have the opportunity to camp wild relatively easily.
WILD CAMPING IN STYRIA
There are no provisions in the Styrian legislation that explicitly deal with wild camping. However, the tourist use of the "alpine wasteland", that is, the economically not usable areas above the tree line, is allowed. Wild camping is therefore allowed here. If you want to stay more than once in the same place, you must report this to the municipality and obtain a permit.
What attractions are there in Styria?
The clock tower and castle hill are just a few of the sights in Graz that you should not miss when visiting the Styrian capital. But there is also an incredible amount to experience away from the city. If you are interested in chocolate, adventures at dizzy heights and breathtaking landscapes, our top 5 sights in Styria are sure to have something for you:
Dachstein Sky Walk: Walk over glass platforms at 2,700 m and enjoy an incomparable view. Those who are not afraid of heights and feel like a bit of thrills will definitely get their money’s worth on the highest suspension bridge in Austria and the "Stairway to Nothingness".
Gröbming Adventure Park: Austria’s largest climbing park is the perfect destination for adrenaline junkies of all ages. From a height of 110 cm, even the youngest can participate in the climbing fun.
Zotter Chocolate Manufactory World of Experience: Here you can see how chocolate is fairly produced according to organic standards and of course enjoy samples. The handmade chocolate bars are then available in all imaginable flavors, from marzipan to misokaramell everything is there.
Herberstein Zoo: From spring to late autumn, you can observe over 80 different animal species here. A special highlight: the cheetah enclosure, the largest in Europe. In addition, the entrance fee also includes a visit to the Garden Castle Herberstein, which impresses with its historical flair and large rose garden.
Eggenberg Castle: If you feel like exploring history even more, you will feel at home in Schloss Eggenberg and its extensive park. An oasis of relaxation on the outskirts of the capital.

HOW DOES MY BOOKING WITH PIA CAMPER WORK?
The minimum hire period for our PIA campers is 3 days.

Depending on the season and weather conditions, our campers are of course equipped with the optimum tyres.
Our vehicles are non-smoking vehicles.
Please note that smoking is therefore prohibited in all our campers.
Yes, some vehicles have a trailer towbar. These are clearly indicated in the equipment list of the PIA Campers.

Unfortunately, this is currently not possible as the booking is automated and we have to take availability into account. But you can look forward to a guaranteed cool vehicle.
You can find all information about our prices directly in the camper vans when booking. Depending on the equipment, our camper vans cost between € 89,- and € 109,- per rental day in the low season (April to mid-June and mid-September to the end of October). In the high season, the daily hire price is between € 109,- and € 139,- depending on the model.
Your PIA Camper is available for adventures throughout Europe (in the geographical sense - for more information, see Art. 3 ABBKF). The best way to find out about exact regional or country-specific regulations is to visit the website of the respective country.
The PIA camper is well protected by fully comprehensive and third-party liability insurance throughout Europe.
The excess in the event of damage is € 800,-. If you opt for our carefree package when booking, you can reduce this by half.
Our PIA Camper are suitable for up to 3-5 people. Nothing stands in the way of a wonderful family holiday or trip with friends.
